Legend of the Dragonstone
The Legend of the Dragonstoneby Blake Jason BoulericeWe at Dragonstone Magnetics are proud to present our line of magnet therapy products inspired by the legend of the dragonstone, a story that takes us back to central Switzerland in the late Middle Ages. Over the medieval city of Lucerne rises Mount Pilatus, a fabled scene of dragon lore. Dragons with mystical healing powers were rumored to lair in the cragged nooks of Mount Pilatus – a stately home indeed. Sightings of the dragons were few and far between, but those that were gave birth to the body of tales that continue to enchant Mount Pilatus to this very day. One such tale is the story of Stempflin, a farmer who had an unexpected encounter with a mighty dragon. It was in the summer of 1421, when Stempflin found himself walking in an area called Rothenburg, just outside the city of Lucerne. All of a sudden, a great dragon that was flying toward Mount Pilatus stopped and landed so close to where Stempflin was standing that he fainted right there on the spot. When Stempflin regained his senses, the dragon was gone – but in its place the farmer found a clot of the dragon’s blood with a mysterious stone at its center. Stempflin kept the dragonstone, and it became a family heirloom. Almost a century later, in 1509, it was officially purported that the dragonstone had special healing powers. Although the story surrounding the dragonstone may be a myth, the stone itself is a real life object. It is currently on display at the Nature Museum in Lucerne, Switzerland.
