Magnetic Therapy - Is It's Healing Power All In The Mind?by Bill KnightSkeptics of magnetic therapy would argue that its effects are more likely due to an over active imagination rather than some sinister magnetic power. In this case they would say that wearing a magnetic device makes you believe that it will heal and reduce pain therefore due to the strong belief, it will. There’s no doubting the power of the mind, but how then could they explain the effects magnetic therapy has on animals? The simple answer is, they can’t. The human being is a mammal and like all mammals has a central nervous system, a heart and a vascular system that transfers blood around the body. It stands to reason that if magnetic therapy can alleviate pain and help the healing process in people, it can also do the same for animals. Veterinary surgeons the world over, have realized the potential of magnetic therapy in helping to speed up the healing process of injured animals and racehorses in particular. These beautiful beasts are an investment to their owners so it makes good sense for them to do all they can to protect that investment. The obvious areas, to which a racehorse is likely to sustain an injury is to its lower limb regions and so magnetic boots and socks are now available. Other domestic animals, especially dogs and cats are also well catered for with the availability of special magnetic collars. In fact, it has been reported that magnetic therapy for animals has helped with relieving the symptoms of numerous ailments not uncommon in humans. To give you some idea of the multitude of ailments, from which vets and pet owners have reported amazing improvements or complete recovery, a list has been compiled. They include: Angina, arthritis, asthma, blood pressure, bone spavin, bone fractures, bursitis, chondritis, congenital hip dysplasia, cramps, diabetes, eczema, epilepsy, haematomas, hind limb paralysis, hock injury, joint arthrosis, laminitis, oedema, osteo-chondritis, osteo-arthritis, osteoporosis, partial paralysis, post surgical healing, rheumatism, ringbone, severed achilles tendon, sinus problems, skin sores & ulcers, spinal damage, spondylitis, sprains & strains, swollen joints, tendonitis, thrombosis and walking disabilities. It’s quite a list. In humans, the most remarkable reports of improvements have been noted in people with osteo-arthritis of the hands, hips and knees. But it is well to remember, that everyone is different in terms of their metabolism. Magnetic therapy therefore may benefit someone within hours of wearing a device (bracelet, bangle, necklace etc), to weeks or even months. In severe and chronic cases of disease, the therapy may not help at all. The only way you would know is to try it for yourself. It’s certainly not harmful but people fitted with a pacemaker should definitely not wear a magnet of any type. If animals could talk, they would probably say a big thank you to their owners for helping them through their traumatic experience. As for the question of whether the powers of magnetic therapy are all in the mind, The answer has to be, a big emphatic NO. dragonstonemagnetics.com You may publish this article on your website or print it for free distribution provided you include the link to Dragonstone Magnetics Article by Bill Knight
